THE BASICS OF A PROFESSIONAL FACIAL

A facial is one of the best ways to take care of your skin – the largest organ of your body – especially when it’s given by an experienced and knowledgeable dermal therapist.

A facial cleanses, exfoliates and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion, and can help your skin look younger.

 

You will get the most out of our facials when they are a  part of a continuing skin care program. 

The Basic Steps:

  • Consultation. All our facials and skin treatments with a consultation. We want to find our what your skin concerns are and what you hope to achieve from your visit. When choosing what products to incorporate into your customized facial we take into consideration your diet, how much water you drink, medications and supplements you take, and products you are currently using to care for your skin. 

  • Cleansing

  • Skin Analysis

  • Exfoliation (physical, mechanical or chemical)

  • Extractions

  • Facial massage

  • A facial mask and arm and hand massage 

  • Finishing Touches:  serum sand moisturizers

  • Home care advice and time to answer any further questions you may have.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A FACIAL

Ideally, every 4 weeks as that is how long it takes the skin to regenerate and is generally the protocol we give. However, if you are trying to clear up acne the intervals might be shorter, or if you have sensitive skin then we might suggest longer in between of 6-8 weeks.  At the very least we suggest a facial 4-times a year with the change of seasons.
